The Search and Evaluation Formula

The Evaluation
Motivation
The trait that everyone wants but few target during the interview process. At this specific point in their career, is the candidate well positioned to exceed the objectives defined for the role? It requires a deep dive into the factors that have contributed to their successes and their struggles. This discussion around their career allows us to determine if the environment surrounding the opportunity aligns well their motivation.
Accountability
This component focuses on accountability to ones own responsibilities but just as importantly, does the candidate have a sense of shared responsibility? How strong have the cross functional relationships been in previous roles? Are their own teams properly held accountable and do their teams feel that same sense of shared responsibility?
Productivity
Does the candidate have the required job related skills to be successful in the position? Dependent on the role this could encompass the bulk of the evaluation. However it's always critical to determine what the minimum level of the job related skills are required and evaluate from there. It's a false peak hiring an exceeding skillset with poor motivation and accountability. Better to get the driven person who'll overcome any skill deficiencies.
